The National Testing Agency (NTA) has released the notification for the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE Main) 2026 Session 1. This national-level entrance test is conducted for admission to various B.E./B.Tech, B.Arch, and B.Planning courses in prestigious institutions such as NITs, IIITs, and other centrally funded technical institutes across India. Age Limit JEE Main 2026: Mode of Examination
  • No Age Limit

    The JEE (Main) - 2026 is being conducted in the following modes:

  • Paper 1 (B.E. /B. Tech.) in “Computer Based Test (CBT)” mode.
  • Paper 2A (B. Arch): Mathematics (Part-I) and Aptitude Test (Part-II) in “Computer Based Test (CBT)” mode and Drawing Test (Part-III) in pen and paper (offline) mode, to be attempted on drawing sheet of A4 size.
  • Paper 2B (B. Planning): Mathematics (Part-I), Aptitude Test (Part-II), and Planning-Based Questions (Part-III) in Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode.
Course Required Criteria based on Class 12th / Equivalent qualifying Examination
B.E/B.TECH
  • Passed qualifying examination with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with one of the Chemistry/Biotechnology/Biology/ Technical Vocational subject.
B.ARCH.
  • Passed qualifying examination with Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry.
B.PLANNING
  • Passed qualifying examination with Mathematics

Corrections in the Application Form for the JEE (Main) - 2026 Session-1 examination

4. Candidates shall be allowed to change examination Cities based on their Permanent and Present addresses (it is once again clarified that NTA is not bound to follow the choices given by the candidate)
  • i. Examination City Selection

5. Candidates shall be allowed to change all the fields:
  • i. Date of Birth
  • ii. Gender
  • iii. Category
  • iv. Sub-category/PwD(If not verified by UDID Portal)
  • v. Signature
6. Candidates shall be allowed to add the field

7. Candidates shall be allowed to change identity details (Only for candidates who registered with identity other than Aadhaar):
  • i. Aadhaar details
  • If there is an impact on the fee, then the additional fee will be charged as applicable. However, in any case the fee will not be reimbursed.
  • Correction in these fields will be applicable only after payment of an additional fee, if any.
  • Only one-time correction will be allowed to the candidate i.e. once the corrections are done and submitted, the form shall be frozen.
