Scholarship Eligibility Criteria 2026-27

Key Eligibility Requirements
  • Applicants must be a permanent resident of Bihar state.
  • The caste of the applicant should fall under Backward Class (BC) / Extremely Backward Class (EBC) / Scheduled Castes (SC) / Scheduled Tribes (ST).
  • BC & EBC or SC & ST students whose annual income of parent/guardian (including own income) does not exceed Rs. 3,00,000/- only, will be eligible for the scholarship.
  • The applicant should be studying in post-admission courses in government institutions or recognized non-government institutions located within the state.

How to Apply for Bihar Post Matric Scholarship (PMS) Online Form 2026-27

  • Visit the official Bihar Post Matric Scholarship portal: pmsonline.bihar.gov.in (for BC & EBC students) or scstpmsonline.bihar.gov.in (for SC & ST students).
  • Before starting, ensure your active Bank Account is DBT (Direct Benefit Transfer) seeded with your Aadhaar card.
  • Click on the respective "New Student Registration" link for your category to initiate the sign-up process.
  • Fill in your basic personal and academic details to successfully generate your unique User ID and Password.
  • Log in to the portal using your new credentials and proceed to fill out the detailed scholarship application form.
  • Upload all required scanned documents in the specified sizes, including your Income Certificate (2026-27), Caste Certificate, Residential Certificate, Bonafide Certificate, and Institution Fee Receipt.
  • Thoroughly review all the entered details and uploaded documents, as corrections may not be allowed later.
  • Strictly click on the "Finalize Application" button to successfully submit your online form.
  • Download and take a hard copy printout of the finalized application form, and submit it along with attached documents to your institution for physical verification.
