National Testing Agency (NTA) has released the notification for the All India Sainik School Entrance Examination (AISSEE) 2026-27 for admission into Class 6 and Class 9 in various Sainik Schools across India. The AISSEE is a national-level entrance exam conducted annually to select deserving students for admission to these prestigious schools, which aim to prepare young cadets for entry into the National Defence Academy (NDA) and other defense services. Eligible candidates can apply online through the official website from 10th October 2025 to till the application last date 30th October 2025.

Eligibility
Class VI
A candidate should be between 10 and 12 years as on 31 March 2026 for admission to Class VI, i.e. he/ she should have been born between 01 April 2014 and 31 March 2016 (both days inclusive) for admission to the Academic Year 2026-27.
Admission for Girls is open for Class VI. Age criteria is same as for boys.
Class IX
A candidate should be between 13 and 15 years as on 31 March 2026, for admission to Class IX, i.e. he/ she should have been born between 01 April 2011 and 31 March 20123 (both days inclusive) for admission to the Academic Year 2026-27.
Admission for Girls is open for Class IX, subject to availability of vacancies. Age criteria is same as boys.
He/ She should have passed Class VIII exam from a recognised school at the time of admission.

NTA AISSEE 2026: List of Required Documents
There are following list of required Documents during the submission of online application form as follows:
Scanned images of Candidate's Photograph (file size: 10kb - 200 kb) in JPG format.
Candidate's Signature (file size: 10kb - 50kb) in JPG format
Candidate's left-hand thumb impression. (file size 10 kb - 50 kb) in JPG format. (In case of any eventuality of left thumb being unavailable, right hand thumb impression may be used).
Date of Birth Certificate issued by the Competent Authority.
Certificate of service (for Defence category-serving) and PPO for Exservicemen, if applicable.
Certificate from the Principal certifying that the applicant is studying in the approved New Sainik School. (Applicable only for those who are studying currently in approved New Sainik Schools).
