Eligibility Requirements
Educational Qualification
Candidates must have passed 10th class (Matriculation) with passing marks in Mathematics and English from a recognized board.
The applicant must have studied the local language (of the selected circle) at least up to the 10th class.
Other Qualifications
Basic Knowledge of Computers.
Knowledge of Cycling (essential for GDS posts).
Adequate means of livelihood.

How to Apply for India Post GDS Recruitment 2026
Eligible 10th-pass candidates can apply online through the official India Post GDS portal (indiapost.gov.in/gdsonlineengagement) between 02nd September 2026 and 21st September 2026.
Step 1: Complete the One Time Registration (OTR) profile starting from 31st August 2026. Keep your Aadhaar number, active mobile number, and email ID ready.
Step 2: After generating your Registration Number, log in to fill out the application form. Select your preferred Circle and Division meticulously.
Step 3: Upload scanned copies of your recent passport-sized photograph and signature in the prescribed format and size.
Step 4: Submit your preferences for the GDS posts within the selected division.
Step 5: Pay the Rs. 100/- application fee online (SC/ST/PwD and Female applicants are exempted). Save and print out the final submitted application form for future reference. Selection will be based purely on the merit list generated from 10th-grade marks.
