Since its formation, the Bihar Legislative Council has been conscious of its fundamental duties of addressing the problems of the people. There was an important debate in the Bihar Legislative Council in 1913 AD related to the education of children. After the first non-violent Satyagraha conducted by Mahatma Gandhi in Champaran, the Champaran Land Act , 1918 was passed in the Bihar Legislative Council to liberate the ryots from the Tinkathiya system. In 1921 AD, the proposal to open Tibbi and Ayurvedic dispensary was passed here. On November 22 , 1921, a bill to give voting rights to women was passed in the Bihar Legislative Council, which is an important point in the glorious democratic history of Bihar.
