About Rajasthan Public Service Commission
Rajasthan Public Service Commission has an unprecedented history. In the year 1923, the Lee Commission recommended the establishment of a Union Public Service Commission in India, but this commission did not consider the establishment of Public Service Commissions in the provinces. The provincial governments were free to make appointments as per their requirement and make state service rules. At the time of formation of Rajasthan state, out of total 22 provinces, only 3 provinces, Jaipur, Jodhpur and Bikaner, had Public Service Commission. After the integration of the princely states, the Rajasthan Public Service Commission Ordinance, 1949 came into force as per the publication of the Rajasthan Gazette dated 20th August, 1949. According to Section 1(3) of the Ordinance, the said Ordinance has been told to come into effect on the date on which the notification regarding the appointment will be published in the Gazette and Section 1(3) of the Rajasthan Public Service Commission Ordinance in the Gazette on December 22, 1949 Notification was published in the Gazette in compliance with ). Therefore, it is clear that the Rajasthan Public Service Commission came into existence on 22 December 1949, that is, the Rajasthan Public Service Commission was established on 22 December 1949.
